We visited the museum last weekend and we're delighted with the presentation as well as the historic information available to us. Whether you're interested in prehistoric Florida, the settlement of Florida, the railroad history, the history of the people who settled Florida, the civil rights history and much much more, it is all here for you to Enjoy self guided... 更多
Pleasantly surprised by this little gem. Museum visit provides a concise, interesting and very informative overview of the history of Fort Myers. Easy to find, access and good parking. Attendant was very helpful. Suitable for both young and old! Great family outing.
The timeline started out great but quickly fizzled. The information concerning early Florida's coastline, flora and fauna was excellent, but the leap from that past to modern times left quite a gap. Too many displays concerning the civil rights movement; I would venture a guess that it was half the exhibits.
Looks not so interesting from the outside, but be sure to go in! Nice museum, lots of information that is also interesting for non-American visitors! One of the highlights is the train outside. You can go in and learn how train traveling in a private train was back then.
The museum was very interesting and provided historical displays of the area from ice age animals and paleo Indians to more modern settlers, civil war events and the cow town past of Fort Myers. The downtown Fort Myers walking tour associated with the museum was also very informative about the early and modern town.
This is a small and nice museum. The thing I liked best were the archeological dig finds. Cool Pullman car and nice grounds. And, just across the street you can catch the free Trolly bus and get a tour of the Historic district.
I was pleasantly surprised by the museum and all it offered. Bought a Groupon and took my 4th grader and 6th grader during holiday break. The kids were very interested and engaged. We decided on the "audio" tour which was the BEST option for them (even myself). We all pushed the buttons and listened at the same time which made... 更多
This is a little gem of an old time Florida Museum. No, its not a modern museum, by any means. It is quaint and has a charm of its own. The building itself is an historic structure (old train depot) and if you want a look at the early days of Ft. Myers this is the place to go. The... 更多
We were pleasantly surprised that such a small building contained so much information. We liked the audio tour which allowed us to enjoy the history of Fort Myers at our own pace. Young children would like the prehistoric area but might be bored with the rest. The staff was friendly and helpful. You can get up close and touch everything... 更多
Really pleasant staff, listen to the headphones and you will learn a lot plus they have a lot of travelling exhibits like Egyptian or The Beatles. Been here several times. The even have a charity event with Alice in WOnderland theme.
