Wish I had read the reviews before going. I would have saved the $15.00 Valet parking fee! I agree with all that has been said about not understanding the words. It was like the actors were screeching at each other. We left at intermission, like many others.
This venue is a great place for concerts and plays. There are elevators in addition to a stairway that is easy to climb. Bluetooth hearing devices and binoculars are available at no charge. There is valet parking available. The parking lot is large and you could end up walking a long way to the hall. I've never had a bad... 更多
We were very disappointed with Matilda when we saw it this afternoon. Not only could we not understand what the actors were saying/singing, even though we had read Dahl's book and expected some quirky plot, child abuse is not an appropriate theme for a show aimed at children. We weren't the only ones to walk out at intermission
Saw Matilda. The show itself was good. The venue has poor acoustics. Only good thing is free parking. The theater doesn't justify $100 tickets. Only go if no other venue offers what you want to see. The mezzanine is still too far from stage. If you are in balcony you need binoculars.
We just got back from seeing Matilda at Barbara B Mann. We loved the choreography, the stage set , the costumes & lighting, but the acoustics were terrible. Most of the time you couldn't understand what the actors were saying. I also found the common area to be too cramped with not enough areas to sit. Being held hostage, (not... 更多
Last evening I went to see Matilda , the musical . The sound was absolutely horrible . The acting and the sound effects we're probably good but I could not enjoy them for the poor sound quality of the rest of the program . $220 was wasted . We have seen several very successful performances at the Barbara Mann theater... 更多
Until you read that BB Mann has totally updated and improved their acoustics, I would not recommend this theatre to anyone. With ticket prices over $100, my guess is that 30% of the audience left at intermission. The sound was horrible, it was impossible to understand the words that the cast were singing. What was the story about.....lots of music... 更多
The Fort Myers, Fl. area is a wonderful, cosmopolitan city. If you had the money, and the time, you could be entertained every night of the week, and then some. The Barbara B. Mann Hall hosts the best of Broadway with at least 5 major hits each winter. Also, the 2 symphonies, professional and the highly acclaimed amateur group have... 更多
The offerings found here are many and varied. The Broadway touring shows are so well done. There are many other productions to enjoy, the acoustics are exceptional and the Hall is very attractive. Located in South Ft. Myers which is very busy at any time of day so if dinner before the show is a priority make sure to make... 更多
I guess the theater took one of the prior reviews to heart. They turned off many of the speakers for the first half of the Lovin' Spoonful concert so that you could not make out the lyrics in the back half of the hall. Luckily they corrected this before the Lovin' Spoonful came on. This is totally unacceptable for a... 更多
