Excellent crews, very well informed and well worth the money and time. Really gives a great understanding of the Everglades in this area of Florida.
The centre is worth a visit to get your knowledge up to-date of the area and its ecology. The boat trip from the centre is worth it to see the islands and their life. You will also usually see dolphins. We hires an open canoe from the centre the next day and had a very enjoyable trip along the coast,... 更多
Make a 30 minute stop here as you visit the everglades. There is a one room museum that talks about the ecology of the area and the wildlife. Downstairs has a gift shop with the usual "my parents were here and I got a t-shirt" stuff, but they also have detailed maps of the area. Don't know the cost, but... 更多
Husband and I did both tours. While it was pricey, this was our once in a life time trip to Everglades so it we went for it. Really enjoyed the Mangrove tour. We did see a dolphin and various birds in addition to the mangroves which are cool. We had rain for 80% of the 10,000 Island tour and because... 更多
Have rented canoes and kayaks here before, and took some friends here to have a great day kayaking in the mangroves, have always had superb help and advice from staff, and we received top notch help from staff at outside rental area. But, the women who ran the inside sales counter could not have been more unprofessional and unhelpful if... 更多
We went on the boat ride and saw lots of birds as well as several Dolphins. No manatees. It was a bit hard to hear the commentary over the noise of the boat, but we had a ranger on board to answer questions. She also helped me get info on other things to do with the grandkids.
Not a lot to see in the visitors center, but the rangers are very informative with information about park activities. You can book boat tours or rent canoes and kayaks downstairs, and the rangers also offer regular programs during the winter season.
