Accessible by even a sedan, this amazing place is a must visit if you are in Oman. We visited the surroundings by our 4WD and took a short hike to W6. We were a family of four having children at age of 11 and 5.
a perfect getaway from the city far -far away from the civilization, see the Nature's best mountain design, enjoy the chill of the cold mountain nights in the land of the desert and rocks, witness the 1st light that touch oman as you sip on the hot coffee and enjoy the overnight burning coal of last night's BBQ. We had a limited time in the area and the day we went it was in the 50 degree (Celsius) temperature range so we did not do any real hikes in the area. We could see the trails and they looked amazing.

We stayed at the Jebel Shams Mountain Resort, a few hundred meters from a good lookout... 更多
This is simply a must do when in this part of Oman! Startling switch backs and rough tracks take you to this beautiful, remote and quiet place. We were lucky enough to see Eagles soaring and Buzzards nesting against this most dramatic of back drops. Nothing to do other than gaze in awe and take some snaps!

Be prepared, take plenty food & drink, leave early, take warm clothing for cooler temperatures and surprise flooding and be patient if the roads flood. Superb lightning shows on our return journey! Well worth the hassle and thanks to... 更多
