My wife and i often stop for ice cream ad take it to thsi beautiful park and sit and enjoy. We always save part of the ice cream cone for the sea gulls.
I attended a cardboard boat race here which was tons of fun. The water is calm as it is just off the intercoastal waterway. Many swear that the history and spirit filled Indian Mound is the reason that Englewood avoids hurricanes. It is an oasis near the middle of town.
My kids took sailing camp here. Lemon Bay is beautiful. There were boaters and kayakers on the water too. If you're lucky, you may spot a manatee.
The history here is cool. The park is nice. It isn't an end destination, but a cool place to stop for an hour or two on your way to the beach. It is probably one of the highest spots here in south west Florida! LOL
Use to be a great park. The. park has been enlarged and taken over by the homeless and drug users. We noticed a couple of strange men, but did not think much about it until we started walking on a trail and saw a couple more homeless men and one man dressed as a teenage girl.
