To be honest, I started the hike through the Four Mile Cove preserve with a very bad attitude: "Its going to be loaded with bugs and we will be eaten alive" "Its going to be hot and too humid" "Its going to be boring". I was so wrong! There was not a single bug bite the whole hike! You see... 更多
First, I loved the Veterans Memorials that they have. I loved it. Once you get going, is is quiet, shaded and a great relaxing walk. yes, you may have to stop for animals on the path in front of you. It can be anything. It will get your hear racing a little. But that's fun.
This paths through the preserve are beautiful. Many species of plants and rest areas. It is very quite after you leave the parking lot. Several armed service memorials are adjacent to the parking area.. Going to the mid point of the walkway great view of the river and you can usually see lots of fish. There is enough tree shade... 更多
Area very effected by water depth and quality. Since the Lake O discharge, there is not much to see. No birds (this was March) and no other wildlife.
This was recommended to us by someone who was staying where we were. We hiked the trail mostly on wooden boardwalks so it is an easy hike. Quite and serene and nicely laid out. Saw some different birds and raccoons but not a lot else. This is a nice hike out to the water and around mangroves. The preserve also... 更多
We love going here to walk the trails. It's a beautiful preserve with a wooden walkway winding through the mangroves. There are several directions to take, and two of them allow you to reach the Caloosahatchee river and relax a bit on the docks. There's also a little building with maps of the trails, nature information and a bit of... 更多
This place has a wonderful boardwalk that takes you to places on the river. The natural environment is really peaceful. But stay on the trail or risk getting in all the spider webs. They also have a kayak rentals on the weekend during Season. Very nice veterans memorial as well. No charge. Bathrooms available.
Very peaceful walk! Beautiful and informative. The smaller trail is great for strollers if you you have babies because it has the boardwalk. But on longer trail, the boardwalk ends and turns into a gravel trail, which makes the strollers harder to push. There are bencjmhes along the path, if you need to stop and rest a while. Lots of... 更多
