My wife and I discovered the sister wetland "Wakodahatchee" originally during a trip through Florida. We not visit whenever our travels take us into Florida. However this February we overheard about Green Cay and were excited to check it out. We visited and of course we were not disappointed! Elevated walkways are organized in 1 mile and 1/2 mile loops. Wildlife is easily observed and photographed. We saw a variety of birds and reptiles. The Nature Center features educational exhibits, a film room and a gift shop. Lots of parking is available.
Get there early when the wildlife is abundant and the crowds are not. You can take great photos. You can get your daily dose of exercise. You can view Florida wildlife in a natural habitat. It is beautiful and peaceful and you can use it as a great educational experience for the kids. Great destination.
A lovely relaxed Boardwalk walk. We did both the mile and half mile. Got quite close to great egrets, great blues, and safely close to a couple of alligators. Also saw a bobcat, blue teal family and an errant group of whistling ducks. Informative placards are placed along the elevated walkway
Never fail to see dozens of birds and other wildlife and usually an alligator or two. Last trip we saw an owl up in a palm tree for the first time. Great level boardwalk including 1 mile and 1/2 mile loop. Also learned about the secret lion that can always be seen if you know where to look. Even when... 更多
This park has a nature center with informative live displays. The also have videos to watch and guided tours. The park has raised wooden paths and is very easy to walk. the total for both loops is about 1.5 miles. We saw plenty of birds, herons, egrets, ibis, coots and even an owl. So peaceful
One of only 2 really great birding locations in the area. But of course all the noise rude loud yakkers ruin the peace and calm that should be observed in nature detract from the place.l
