Quiet restful surrounding with a great River side path to stroll along having a good conversation with a loved one. Plenty of spots to stop along the way, either under the shade of a tree or if you want to much on something at one of the many restaurants along the walk. Nothing there but a few benches and sidewalks. You can walk next to the muddy Christina river but that is about it. Try another park. Sometimes homeless people approach you for money.
The whole river front scene in Wilmington is great. The entrance to the Tubman-Garrett Park is quite impressive. Come on down to the riverfron to stroll, shop, eat and see a ball game!
The Riverfront has come a long way since I moved here. When I first came to Delaware, this area was a giant wasteland with one or two closed bars. The kids like the birdhouses, and seeing the Pirate ship. We all enjoyed the cleanliness of the area. The flowers were pretty and the kids enjoyed the statues and the mini golf.
Just came into town for the Marathon and enjoyed my visit to this park which hosted the run. It was a nice area to walk around with historical signs and a number of restaurants along the waterfront walkway which is part of this park.The area appeared very secure and was definitely well maintained.
