Lewes is the 1st town in the 1st state to sign the U.S. Constitution. Its historical charms are extensive, and the Lewes Historical Society is a great place to start. There is free parking close by. Visit LHS, then walk to downtown Lewes along 1st street (borders Delaware Bay).
My family and I had a blast on this one hour tour. The historian was full of local knowledge and presented the information in a manner that even had my six year old mesmerized. The trolley itself was a smooth ride, it had great air conditioning and was easy to find at the ferry terminal. I guarantee you will want... 更多

I am a member of the society and have gone to the society locations. Lewes is a nice city ( more a town) and going to the various historic sites it worth while. Tells one a lot about slower lower Delaware and the seafarer and River heritage.
Located in the oldest house in the state this is a great place to introduce yourself to the history of the area. They are staffed, at least in the day we visited with helpful and extremely knowledgeable volunteers.
The buildings on the compound are fascinating. The Historical Society building is full of historical information and meaningful gifts. The staff can answer any questions and they are so friendly.
