The park is very nice but not more than this. Pay attention that in addition to 560 Rupies entrance fee per person, you also have to hire a guide for *800* Rupies! Apparently it's a law, and the text of the law hangs on the window of the ticket office. The guide doesn't really GUIDE, he's more sort of accompanyment,... 更多
Did an organized two day hike in the spring. Beautiful nature and stunning views, not too physically demanding, and only 40 minutes from Kathmandu. Good food and beer along the way and included one night in a village guest house. Great alternative to money, time, and gear required for a big trek.
lots of hiking trails inside the national park and my favourite is the trekking from sundarijal to chisapani. We stayed overnight at chisapani and then from chisapani to nagarkot. A very relaxing green escape.
A day hike to shivapuri is really good . we can see good view of valley n water fall. yeah, we can hire a guide, they are really good.
We just came back from this hike. You do not need to pre-book a tour which seems to cost more than $60 USD per person. For two people traveling from Thamel, we paid 1600 rupees total round trip (someone below mentioned a taxi costing $50 to get there and that is a shame)-it shouldn't cost any more than $8 USD... 更多
The park itself is nice - lush, peaceful, a few good spots for views of the valley, and the landmarks mentioned in other reviews. However, foreigners are now required to hire a "licensed guide" to enter, "for safety reasons," in addition to the already higher admittance fee that foreigners pay. The guides at the gate clamor for your business and... 更多
The Shivapuri National National Park is only a few kilometres from the centre of Kathmandu but feels a world away. The moment you step into the gates of the park you feel an increase in oxygen levels. You have to take a ticket at the entrance which will cost you Rs 560 for the day and now it seems you... 更多
We entered the Shivapuri National Park and as we entered the park, the coolness of fresh air and sweet birds wel come us.. We ascend upwards. A water flow, its purity and a pleasent sound attract us and pulled us to play the water. But the army man came and warned us not to play with the water because it... 更多
Still far from the nicest national parks in the world, this is still a striking contrast with the urban sprawl and incredible pollution of Kathmandu, and is only a short drive away. It offers easy or strenuous hiking depending on the trail; trails are fairly well signposted and maintained, definitely above average for Nepal. You'll be hiking through lush "almost... 更多
It takes about an hour to drive from Thamel to the end of the road, then it is a long steep climb up beside the water pipes from the Sundarijal entrance. Then the park fee is 565RU. It cost us US$50 for the taxi from town. The second half of the climb up to the park gate was just as... 更多
