Although I didn't see much wildlife, I know if I had been able to take more time to explore I would have. Love the area...the creek winds back and forth, around and around...lots of places to support a variety of wildlife. So glad it is preserved!
Wonderful place to see moose and other wildlife! Very nice Visitor Center with clean restrooms. Bailey and Josh were very helpful and provided us with the information we needed to see moose. Be sure to check out Owl Ridge Overlook first then drive down to Moose Goose Trail.
We didn't know what to expect when we visited the refuge. Lots of prairie dogs which kept us amused, prong horns and birds. We drove on to walk the board walk but there was nothing to be seen but beautiful scenery. A lovely area and worth the visit.
We spent 2 days exploring the Refuge and were not disappointed. The amount of marine avians was amazing, including a White Pelican. Numerous prairie dogs, prong horns and moose. Go out early and late in the day to see them most animals
My boyfriend and I had both been hoping to see a bull moose and we did immediately on the moose-goose nature trail! Very exciting! The Visitor's Center has some very nice educational exhibits and there are plenty of excellent free educational resources to take home. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Absolutely beautiful place!
Actually, nearby Walden Lake (Reservoir)? did have more birds, but the whole area is hopping everytime we come. The drive over Trail Ridge to get there adds to the delight on this once-a-year trip.
