We've been here a number of times but not this late in the fall. While there aren't many flowering plants, it is still beautiful. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and seeing the fall crocus blooming. So much to explore here with so many microclimates.
There were not many flowers in September, but the garden was beautiful. We had a nice relaxing stroll and enjoyed seeing the different types of alpine vegetation from all over the world. Highly recommended.
Regardless of the time of year, this alpine paradise is not to be missed! Spend as much time as you can and discover beautiful plants and shrubs, quiet corners and vibrant hues!
Maybe I was disappointed because I've seen two superior alpine gardens in the Pacific Northwest. No one was in the Education Center. No one was in the garden, except for a couple of grounds keepers who zipped around in a golf cart. Plantings weren't notable.
As you're walking around Vail village taking in the scenery, it's worth making a short detour to visit this botanical garden. It's free and small but has been thoughtfully planned out. You do have to walk up a slight incline and then through a resort with a gated entrance - but just follow the signs and you'll be ok. Total... 更多
