This little gem was across from the Best Western Sundowner so I decided to go and see what it was about. It is $3 to get in, which is super cheap for all you get to see; plus you get a wooden nickel!! So cool. The little village behind the main museum entrance is chock full of things to see.... 更多
For a small museum, this is a must visit. Great period displays, buildings, farm equipment, etc. They also have a very nice petroleum history building. Property also includes an old home, chapel, school, blacksmith shop and other interesting things.
The museum has something for everyone. It has an old time village with a school, church, general store, gas station, and stone house. The education center has hands on experience for a tornado, the great dust bowl and many more attractions. Kids can try their hand at gold panning. The barn has many exhibits from by gone days. The cost... 更多
Quite a large display for a small town. This museum exposes visitors to the history of Sterling and the surrounding high desert. Great display of arrow heads and a rock collection donated by a local rockhound. Outside is a collection of farm implements from days gone by, a blacksmith shop, school house, barber shop, and well I don't want to... 更多
Having grown up in Sterling, and living across from the museum over 50 years ago, it was quite a treat when one of my uncles wanted to take us to the museum to show us a picture of 2 other uncles, that is on display. Impressive, with all the new additions! Will have to return when we have more time... 更多
What a pleasant surprise to find this museum. We saw a sign and had time to spend before checking into our resort. So many buildings and things to see. Well worth the small fee and your time.
Great experience, for the whole family to make history come, alive. Actual buildings of the area are here to show what life was like in this area 100 years ago. Plenty of room to have the kids run around and a good place to explore inside as well. All is handicapped friendly.
Colorado has lots of small town museums, and this is better than most. The staff were very informed and helpful. We enjoyed the little village out back of the museum -- with buildings such as an old filling station, a general store, a church, a school and blacksmith shop .
Visited the museum with family and was completely surprised at the quality and wonderful items they have collected over the years. We went over the 4th of July. The extra exhibits were worth it also. Don't pass this one up.
