It was interesting to view this piece of history. There isn't much to see or do at the site other than to get some great shots of the mill and read the history of the place. This is a quick stop off point on the way to Cherry Hill lookout.
The mill used to be open to go inside and walk through. You could really feel the energy and sprits of days gone by when sugar plantations were the main economic driver. Now it's all locked up, but you can walk around the outside.
This mill was originally built for crushing sugar. It is one of only 2 functioning sugar mills left in the Caribbean. Unfortunately when we arrived, it was closed but nevertheless it is a spectacular piece of engineering. It is just on the side of a road so easily viewed even though we could not gain entry. Definiotely worth a look!
