This is such a great place to stroll through any time. There is so much to see. Plus the annual events are a real treat! Sounds Exciting Summer Concerts, Cider Days, Lakewood Lights and more. What a wonderful place. I hope you get a chance to explore it.
The Lakewood Heritage Center is like a little walking history. Part of a beautiful park near Belmar, you can walk along a virtual Colfax Avenue, like you would walk down "memory lane". There is also a small museum, and if you select your visit's date right, you can visit at a time when there are guided tours, and other fun... 更多
You can see lots of 19th century and mining museums in Colorado, but NOT a 20th century museum. There are several buildings on the property, majority brought in and restored. They offer tours twice at day at 11 and 2 so you can see the inside of the buildings. I suggest going during a special event like Cider Days where... 更多
I walked from my hotel to Belmar Park area, looking for this centre in particular. It is such a lovely location, especially near the lake where you can see huge birds nests high in the trees on a little island. What was awesome is that many of the buildings in the outdoors centre are re-located houses, shops and even an... 更多
You can enjoy the park setting, go to the gift shop (really imaginative, not the typical stuff) and even a show. Don't miss the wonderful Holiday Sale in Nov or early Dec.
The Lakewood Heritage Center is a 20th century museum located in the Belmar area. There are a variety of historic structures including the Valentine Diner and the 20th century schoolhouse. The 20th Century Emporium, a museum store offers interesting collectables and gift items featuring products popular from the 1940's through the 1980's. In addition, there is a summer concert series... 更多
every summer they have 6 to 8 outdoor concerts. great acoustics and beautiful surroundings and sunsets. lots of other fun things going on all year, check the website
Lakewood has taken the initiative to acquire and restore early buildings from the area. The collections of builidings are both business and homes. this is an interesting colllection.
Roaming through the Lakewood Heritage Center makes for an interesting afternoon stroll but it would be so much more fun if you could actually go into more of the buildings that are there. The facades hold so much promise, but then, the facade is all you get. That said, they have some unique meeting spaces there, from the modernist chrome/silver... 更多
Loved the original old buildings and walking trails. It's a dog friendly park with a small pond in the middle. Great for history buffs that would like to know more about the area.
