We have been here a few times when we've been in Colorado. I think the place is magnificent. The views are gorgeous. The road is kind of washboard bumpy, but we stop every couple hundred yards and just admire nature's beauty.
My partner and I drove across from Colorado Springs to the Eleven Mile Reservoir last week. After purchasing a park day pass ($7 from the main office) we rented a tandem kayak from the marina ($40 for two hours) and headed out onto the lake. It was just simply beautiful! We left the marina at about 12pm and got back... 更多
If you want to spend some time in nature and away.. This is a great place.. The road is gravel so your car will get dirty. There are plenty of places to pull off and get close to the river. You can walk and hike or go fishing( remember to get your license).
We enjoyed our day visit to this beautiful lake. The rock formations were really impressive and the lake and views were very pretty. We fished and got one nice size trout. We would have loved to catch more. The rocks are fun to climb and trails are pretty. We didn't see any bears but the sign said it bear activity... 更多
Explored a park not too far from home. Definitely will make a return trip and also explore Spinney Mountain next time. Lots of people trying to fish and saw some poles bending but I didn't see the fish...must have gotten away. Nice little link of hiking trails and a good place to make the park a base for hiking trails... 更多
We took a day trip to Eleven Mile State Park. The drive from Woodland Park was less than 45 minutes. On a bright sunny day one can't ask for a more relaxing experience. The kids were able to run through the tall grasses, climb on the rock formations while the adults took in the sights. There are several camping areas... 更多
Scenic drive that well worthwhile to do. You will go through 2 smaller tunnels from the Midland RR days. Trout fishing, camping, and other water recreation is all available in this area. The views as you drive along this canyon are excellent.
Hubby wanted to fish while we were vacationing in Colorado (!? we fish at home, we live on a lake, I thought we came to hike in the mountains...) The area was pretty but there are NO TREES and NO SHADE. I would not want to camp here and wouldn't want to come back for fishing. He didn't get a... 更多
Lake and park themselves are beautiful, we usually spend our time at some of the more primitive, pack in-pack out campsites with more tree cover so shade wasn't an issue. Haven't ever caught much here but others have. Never gets too busy out on the water, which is nice. It you head to the western or northern shores don't expect... 更多
