I always enjoy strolling through these gardens no matter what the season. There are interesting and new ideas for your yard, but even if you don't, it is always nice to stop and smell the flowers! And it is free.
This is a trial plot for new flowers. It is very interesting, Everything is marked. They have beds of different flower varieties and thy report back to the growers about the quality of the flowers.

Wait until everything is in bloom, usually in early July. It's fun to see all the different varieties of plants and flowers.
As a resident, I pass the Gardens frequently and love bringing out-of-town visitors. I learn something new every time and note the names of the flower species --even if I don't intend to plant them in my landscape!
This is on the Colorado State University Campus and worth a visit. It is usually not difficult to park in this area.. You see a variety of plants in competition. It is nice walking or biking through the campus.
