There is so much to see it is worth adding to your day trip. I love to take the kids here during the day and play around. No to good for the late afternoon or extremely hot days but really awesome during the city festivals!
This place is a bit crazy with traffic, etc during normal days -- though it is still surrounded by and full of history. But this is the place to be for Denver's large annual food and entertainment festivals.
I visited in winter, but noticed unplanted flower beds so it's likely the park is more impressive in summer. Even in winter, it provides nice views of the surrounding buildings, including the Capitol. A very pleasant place to cut through on your way back and forth from downtown to the museums.
Visit Civic Center Park June-October Tuesday-Thursday where at least 50 food trucks gather offering your choice of food with options to eat in the park or umbrella tables are furnished. Get out of the office and get some fresh air!
Good views, lots of history. Watch out for the roving groups of homeless people who want money. Can be busy depending on what is happening in the park, from field trips, community events, homeless sleep spots, or protests at the Capitol.
If you are trying to get from downtown to the Denver Art Museum and environs you will likely see this park as a shortcut. Be careful. As noted in many other reviews - the park (and its outskirts) is filled with the homeless, and people who have obvious mental/drug/alcohol issues. I'd recommend another route most days.
Although the park looks inviting and is boarded by the capital building and various museums, it's probably best to circumvent it and stay on the sidwalks. Denver has a homeless/transient/creep problem and Civic Center Park is a magnet. Granted, there are certain times during daylight where you can walk through it , but even then I never feel completely safe.... 更多
This park is beautiful but as lots of others say, there are so many homeless people there. I never felt threatened or uncomfortable but it does make you feel sad walking around there. Aside from that though, the buildings are amazing and lots of statues and monuments to look at. Worth a little walk around for definite.
We walked across from the state capitol to walk through this park. There were a lot of homeless but the park itself was beautiful. Great views of both city hall and state capitol as well as the mountains.
