We picked the weekend of September 17th to spend in Crested Butte, hoping to find the aspens peaking in the fall finery. We had heard about Kebler Pass from John Fielders book about the best places in Colorado. When you leave Crested Butte on the Kebler Pass road, you soon encounter vistas of mountains with groves of aspens at their... 更多
Drove this road in early August, Aspens were everywhere! This will be a great color-fest when the leaves change. This road can be driven in any 2WD vehicle when dry. Figure 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. for stopping and taking pictures.
Well worth the trip over Kebler pass. Beautiful fall foliage and mountain scenery. The road is mostly dirt/gravel. Take your time if driving in a car. Any vehicle good for this trip.
Don't miss going over this pass. Have your camera, phone, or tablet ready for some incredible photos. Some of the Aspen trees were even starting to change. A true feast for the senses!!!!!
There are many Aspen stands along the pass. During late September they are all changing color. Glorious. The pass is dirt but easily traversed by a standard car. Drive Kebler pass as part of the West Elk Loop and you won't be disappointed.
We took this road heading out of Crested Butte and were thrilled with the drive! The Aspens are beautiful and it much better then taking a main highway!
A truly gorgeous drive, a wonderful hiking place, and there are even places to stop and fish. The wild flowers are wonderful. Mountains, valleys, vistas, that are awe inspiring, varied, stunning, and an incredible trip through an Aspen forest. I always thought that the trip down Hiway #1 through Big Sur was the best drive, but now maybe not. If... 更多

The gradual ascent is a gain of several thousand feet and the summit is (I think) 12,400 feet. The eleven mile hike is but one of many which can be hiked in the area.... 更多
