On the edge of Canon City; this 4 mile round trip hike was perfect. After a short steep climb the trail levels out and follows the river upstream for two miles. You'll pass through a few old rail tunnels; hence the name. The views up and down the river valley are splendid. Highly recommend.
great fun for the family. the kids enjoy running and shouting through the tunnels but it wasn't too stressful for anyone who wants to hike it.

Mile markers every quarter-mile encouraged us to keep going the full two-mile distance to the... 更多
Easy walk after the first little bit of steep incline. Beautiful around every turn and bend. You walk along the Arkansas river way up high. We were lucky enough to see the train leaving and coming back. Took us a couple of hours but we didn't get in any hurry.

We had our 4 yr old Black Lab with us and packed plenty of water. The trail is very warm and dusty and water is essential.... 更多
After the first part, the road is level. The tunnels are interesting and there are many benches along the way at perfect spots for taking photos. It was neat to watch the train go by.
