The Hill is the main area just off campus that is the center of student life for socializing with some great local restaurants and bars. Every school has an area like this and CU 's is a mix of old and new.
There are many interesting shops and eating/drinking establishments. Lots of music playing. It reminds me a little of South Congress in Austin, TX.

We found it easy to park on the street, making sure you purchase and properly display the parking meter voucher on the passenger side of the dash. Many little stores to hop into , as well as mini marts, 7 eleven, a theater, beauty salons, and a drugstore. Many food places, books, shopping catering to the college students across the street. Problems with trying to find parking. Would recommend Pearl St Mall over this area if not attached to University needs.
A lot of nice "hip" shops here to pass the time with, and it's adjacent to both the CU campus and to downtown proper. We often walk up from Pearl Street, then walk across to CU, then back to the car.
