This was perhaps the best educational tour I've ever attended! It's one thing to know the kind of research the agency does; it's another to actually see all the practical applications that benefit our everyday safety and well-being. Both the (brief) lectures and the Sphere of Science presentation combined for many moments where attendants would say, "that is SO cool!!"... 更多
This was an interesting tour as we learned that NOAA concentrates on space weather more than atmospheric weather. That being said, NOAA only offers one tour a week. Since this is a government site, you will have to go through a personal as well as vehicle search to gain admittance. Get there about 30-45 minutes early.
The process to get into NOAA is a bit lengthy. This isn't an easy tour to just walk onto. You have to sign up in advance. We were really lucky to get Sarah V. as our tour guide. She is incredible. Very engaging, very knowledgable, very passionate. It was the most fun two hours I've had on a tour in... 更多
Our December 8th tour was disappointing. Most of the tour stops are not highly visual (people working at weather and solar monitoring centers, an ice core), so it is important to have a skilled guide. The woman who led our tour was poorly prepared and disorganized, apparently unmotivated and did not demonstrate knowledge. One of the worst tour guides I've... 更多
My husband and I took this tour last week. It was something I'd wanted to do since moving to CO and was excited to see the grounds and equipment. Prepare to get there early, as there is a rather thorough security process that wasn't really specified in the e-mail. The grounds are really neat and coincide well with the rolling... 更多
I went to the NOAA to see the buildings by I.M.Pei . My spouse went for the photo ops. We both were pleased. This is also a place to bring the children. There are interactive weather exhibits. Also, as a plus, there is a cafeteria with a great view.
I absolutely loved the tour of this facility. I rely on their weather forecasts and it was just great to see where the info, comes from.
This place has numerous interactive exhibits for children to examine and play with. Children can learn a lot of science while enjoying a stimulating experience. Undoubtedly, many children decided on a career in science after visiting this facility. Adults will also find the exhibits enlightening.
