This is something I personally got to cross off my bucket list after 23 years George AFB Closed and I wasn't able to go (I was in 2nd grade at the time and we moved to Idaho) to Calico at the time, but my siblings did!. We had a great time at Calico, rode the train, did the 1000 ft... 更多
We went to the Steampunk Event at Calico Ghost Town on April 11, 2015. This is our 3rd Steampunk Event at Calico. The town is wonderful the hosting the event, but there was no venders as in previous years. This is why we go to these events. To see the vendors merchandise. We were very disappointed. The concert Saturday night... 更多
You won't be disappointed. It was fun. The guided tour is a must! All the little shops are fun too. Don't get there to late because things close early. Call to check hours. Worth he drive.
We had a good time. However, were not aware that the normal entrance required climbing a lot a stairs. By the time I got to the top I was totally beat. The railing was very, very wobbly and the steps were not level. I did not get to enjoy as much as I should have. My lady friend is younger... 更多
Well, most Americans except the 'natives' do not have much of a common history so to highlight, restore and promote places like this is nice for travellers interested in history, landscape, industry and so on.
I went here when I was 8. So I came back at 39 and had a better appreciation of this old west ghost town. It is an awesome place to go! It was fantastic to see it and how they lived back then. There are shops and a saloon where you can get home made soft drinks! Its worth the... 更多
I have traveled the I-15 stretch going to Anaheim for years, but I have never stopped in Calico. After staying the night in Barstow, I decided to take my family there before heading down to Anaheim. I am so glad that we did! It wasn't that much to pay at the gate, it wasn't crowded at all and the weather... 更多
Starting off by saying I love this kind of stuff. There is a lot of commercialism, yes, but also a lot history if you take a few minutes to look. You have to be willing to stop and read all the little notes that are all over regarding the original settlers and the conditions they faced. We were there several... 更多
As a child, I never really appreciated how the Knott family was attempting to preserve western history at Knotts Berry Farm. As an adult, I now really appreciate Walter Knott's gift of preserving the history of an 1880's silver mining town. Saving the town of Calico from abject distruction, the collection of origional and replica buildings now allows visitors to... 更多
