This attraction would be very easy to miss and that would be a shame because it is so powerful. We stopped by late in the afternoon/early evening and had the place all to ourselves, which was nice for some quiet reflection. My husband headed off in one direction and I in the other. The sculptures are down different, short walking... 更多
We have passed by this place many times but did not know of its existence until recently. We found it to be a sacred space for contemplation and remembering friends lost. We so appreciate the artist and the effort to honor our history. There was no entry fee but we did pick up a brochure and plan to send a... 更多
We've driven past this site many times, so on this occasion we decided to stop. These sculptures will not be to everyone's taste. They are abstract and unusual. They're also interesting. With themes all about peace and unity, these sculptures can also stimulate thought and discussion. I recommend stopping by, spending a few minutes or a couple of hours, and... 更多
This is a place on the side of Hwy 97, North of Weed,Ca. in the shadow of Mt Shasta. The sculptures all tell a story, that make you stop and reflect their meaning and purpose. This is a memorial to all who have given their lives so that we all can be free. If you go too fast going toward... 更多
When I reached the sculpture of the pow/mia, I was totally unprepared for what I saw...it's still hard for me to think about it. The stark, abstract figures and the lonely, quiet surroundings make this a very special place to contemplate and remember the sacrifices so many have made for our freedoms.
This sculpture garden will be most meaningful to anyone that has served in the military during wartime or has a family member that did. Neither my wife nor I have served in the military experience, but we still found this site to be well worth a visit and recommend it highly.
Somewhere I read that it is 7 miles from Weed. That is incorrect, it's probably about 12 miles out of Weed, the address takes you to nothing but keep going-I promise it's there. Very neat to see, I love sculpture gardens and really enjoyed this one as well.
Really interesting presentation of Military Service.....Quite Abstract..But, If you spend enough time at each work ,by several artists, you will feel exactly what they wanted you to feel. Heart Moving Work.
It is in the middle of no where, but so perfect . The austere environment is perfect for this living memorial to armed forces. Each sculpture is made with such care and devotion. It is a must see. If you did not already appreciate what these men and women have done for our country, you will after visiting this memorial.
