We enjoyed visiting the Ruth Bancroft Garden in Walnut Creek. The cactus gardens are quite nice to see; there are other dry plants as well. They also do plant sells and seminars. We walked through on our own, but there are also hosted tours. One can also rent facilities here for events.
It is really dry garden time, and they have done it well for a long time. Plant sales are good for succulents. Meander about and see what the plants in catalogues and nurseries look like when well established.
