The Western Railway Museum has a lot about it to like. They have a two great sheds full of vintage rail cars and lots of electric locomotives. They have an excellent visitor center and gift shop. And they have train rides! We took advantage of the train ride and had a nice time. Along the tracks there were a lot... 更多
The railroad museum is surprisingly complete. It is run by fanatic railroad buffs/hobbyists and has more cars than you expect for small place outside of Fairfield city limits and along Highway 12. Well worth the visit and nominal cost. I visited years ago when my daughter was young and brought my nephew also.
But it is especially fun in the Spring and just before Halloween. A train ride through the fields of spring wild flowers or a pumpkin patch with an amazing maze...and a fun train ride too. Great for the whole family.
Topical museum devoted to everything trains and their influence and impact on the West. Lots of memorabilia, plus railway cars and engines to viewed and entered. Somewhat isolated from any other attraction, it is still worth the time to understand how the West was tamed and the railroads role in that era.
If you are into early 20th century rail, this is a good stop for you. Since the museum sits right next to one one of the biggest wind farms in California, with 573... 更多

Last weekend and this weekend the WRM has a great Pumpkin Patch with hayrides, a hay fortress, petting zoo, pony rides and a pumpkin launcher. There is live music, hotdogs and hamburgers. Soroptimist Rio Vista had a wide variety of delicious homemade baked goods. Took the train to Gum Grove and had a fun day. Great for all ages.
If you like trains, this is a must see place. Specializing in commuter light rail from the 19th & 20th century, there is enough here to keep you busy for several hours. For the price of admission, you get ride on whatever antique rolling stock they are exercising that day out on their several mile section of track. The track... 更多
Great experience for adults and children to see different trains and cars. Short train ride out to the valley and see the spring flowers. Fun time, picnic area, etc.
