Fine old building directly across from the Courthouse park on Washington St in downtown Sonora. Packed to the gills with local military items. Many books and information.
We stopped by, not really being buffs of War or Military and came away with a lot of great historical knowledge of the local veterans and the military history in the Sonora area and also during the gold rush years. The docent explained many of the artifacts and was part of a family with rich history in the area. Well... 更多
I took a tour of the Veteran's Museum in downtown Sonora and was oh so glad I did. The history amassed in this small museum is amazing. The gentleman that gave my tour was a Vet himself. He was friendly, knowledgeable and I would highly recommend visiting if you have a chance.
The veterans museum in Sonora, on Washington street maybe small by some standards but it is full of donated items from veterans in the community of Sonora. Each Veteran service organization of Sonora has on display all the conflicts since WWII. A must see museum.
This is one of the BEST museums we've been to. Please take your children and young adults. Educate them to the real world. They are NOT learning history in school, nor are they being taken on field trips to these museums. This is a wonderful place to learn American history. Talk to the man there, he's full of knowledge.
Unfortunately we got there with only 10 minutes left until they closed (at 2pm on weekdays), but it was fortunate... 更多
