I know most people don't come to Sonoma to see historical sites but this one is very well worth a short detour from the Plaza in downtown Sonoma. The house is very well preserved with period furnishings and artifacts from the Vallejo family who were so influential as early settlers in the region. Behind the house there is still the... 更多
The grounds are fabulous and the signage is good. The overall property is a 5 star experience. However, the state of CA needs to hurry up and get to repairing and restoring this gem or it could be very sad soon! I also wish you could go inside some of the other buildings. Worth the hike around the fields etc.
As if the barracks and mission weren't enough, a beautiful walk to this home and grounds was the icing on the cake. For $3! Multiple buildings to peruse, and a large picnic area, too. The reservoir was a very cool home to turtles. Thanks for preserving all this land into an outstanding park for all!
Learn something new everyday and I learned quite a bit about General Vallejo and his role in history. His house is about a 1 mile walk from downtown, but it's completely flat and paved. The house itself is in amazing shape and it's out of the way location guarantees a quiet visit. Don't miss the turtles in the pond out... 更多
I enjoyed the stroll to this attraction. It is a short walk from the plaza, on a paved path, to the Vallejo home. On the day we visited it was not very crowded and we were able to leisurely view the exhibits.
The Vallejo Home is worth the time to visit. The grounds and little houses on the property are filled with interesting sights. It gives one a feel for how life was long ago.
Great place to visit-I learned about the California Republic or Republic of California whichever is correct. the architecture is delightful and the little house where family and guest retreated to when things got to hectic is a tiny house. You must not miss.
