The ranger (Clare) was great, knowledgeable and very accommodating. This park is actually down the street from the mission. There is no museum at the mission itself, only a very small gift shop with a not-so-knowledgeable volunteer. The ranger down the road at the state park however was very interested about history and made us enthusiasts too! The shop in... 更多
Probably the smallest of all the missions that is still standing today. The church you see today is a replica of the original that was destroyed by earthquake in 1857.
The majority of the original mission was destroyed by Earthquake damage, but parts of the Mission remain and the staff at the visitors center can answer questions. when you drive up it looks like there is just the chapel and museum, but on the side street past the school, there is a State Historic Park and visitors center with some... 更多
Visited this site on ta family mission trip. It is a very small mission that is free of charge. The mission is quaint. a brief visit, like 15 minutes is about all you will need. If you walk done the street (near the school) there are some ruins to see.
This is the smallest of the 15 missions I have previously visited. Nevertheless, it's "on the mission trail". If you are visiting all 21 California missions, this is close to the end of the trek which began in San Diego. Some artifacts and old priest vestments are in display cases in the entry gift shop. A small chapel and adoration... 更多
One of the more interesting missions, must see if you love history.Good portion of the mission standing but wore a sweater or coat the Adobe buildings are cold!
Our visit was on a rainy day & it was a nice place to visit. This isn't a large Mission, but it has a quaint Chapel. There are many vestments on display & the garden is nice.
Visited the Mission and Church. The gift shop at the mission not so helpful, but behind at the small park was the awesome park ranger who was so full of knowledge and help - she was amazing. All 8 of us learned something. Totally recommend visiting the park and the original structure of the Mission Santa Cruz.
