The building houses county of Marin courts, the county jail, the Main Library for Marin County, and many other attractions, including the Marin County Fairgrounds. It is an eye catcher as people drive past with a great view from Hwy. 101, but If you drive up to the building, you will be astounded at the subtle variations to the structure.... 更多
We have so few Frank Lloyd Wright buildings on the west coast, but this is probably the largest and one of the most spectacular. But to get the most from it, after you walk its halls and see the garden (or take the $5 docent-led tour, given Wednesdays at 10:30, leaving from the second floor cafe), drive out Lucas Valley... 更多
A marvel of architecture, our Civic Center is so special that they conduct docent tours. Along with all the Marin County offices, we have a library there... as well as a cafeteria that has both indoor and outside dining.
Been here many times for many different things. The building is designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and is unique. This is where we go for county court, for flea markets, for the fairgrounds, exhibits, etc.
this place was designed by Frank Lloyd Weight, and was in the film Gattica, as the astronaut training headquarters. It's interesting to walk around, an odd mix of cool architecture and run down offices.
Built between 1960 and 1969, this amazing architectural design still stands out as very unique. You can come to register to vote, to serve jury duty, to attend a Board of Supervisors meeting, to attend a wedding, grab a bite in the cafeteria, go to the library, or simply to drink in the astounding views and designs from all four... 更多
A Frank Lloyd Wright designed structure - it is one of a kind. It constantly amazes me that a governmental institution would have the courage to depart and construct such an unusual facility.
I love the design that was conceived over a year's time by FLW and his wife. The problem is that it is hard to navigate and signage, while it is there, is often obscure and difficult to find. The length of the building is a long walk.
This administrative building is akin to walking through a museum. Every detail is spectacular in concept and form and a testimony of how an edifice should enhance the natural surrounding as opposed to intruding upon. Wright was a master genius in this regard.an
