This hidden gem is just a few minutes drive from downtown San Rafael. Easy parking access and in just a few minutes you can have your deck chair unfolded and be gazing and the sparkling water of the San Francisco Bay. There are historic exhibits to peruse but it is also pleasant to soak up the sun and bring a... 更多
China camp beach is interesting. I think it has a snack shack which was never open when I went and I think an old Chinese boat. Overall, it is just a slightly interesting beach. The sand is a little rocky and the water is muddy bay water. However, it is a nice local spot to take a small child as... 更多
15 minute car ride from hotel. Diverting for an hour or so. Lots of hiking and biking trails. Farther into park is the remains of an early 20th Cinese fishing village, with shacks and a tiny museum. Not that interesting for kids. Located right on the bay's edge. A decent bathroom and some picnic tables. No concessions. Nothing special for... 更多
China Camp is a beautiful area to visit if you're looking for a quieter beach experience. Keep in mind, of course, that this is the Bay Area where -even on a sunny day - the water is not warm! In addition to the few visitors, this is a historical site with a small museum that tells the story of the... 更多
We live so close to China Camp, yet don't take advantage of it. The last time we were there was on a weekend and we ordered the shrimp sandwich at the little diner there (which is only open on weekends) and it was delicious! The place is quaint and full of history. Look forward to going again soon..
We spent time at the visitor center by the beach. It talks about the history of the area, if you are interested. We sat on the beach (mostly rocks) and my son waded and played for a while. We then drove through the rest of the park and saw a few deer and enjoyed the scenery. It isn't really a... 更多
We camped here - it's a walk in campground, which is great if you are walking into a more primitive environment, but this is just a dusty open space with camp on top of camp. We had fun, the place is pretty clean. Drive a couple of miles to China Camp for a pretty cool museum and nice beach to... 更多
At the beginning, (or end) of a very pretty drive. This is a restoration and preservation of a Chinese shrimping village of early last century. The rest of the park has great views of San Pablo Bay, the tidal wetlands and, from the hills above, views of San Francisco, San Francisco Bay, Marin and Sonoma in the distance. it is... 更多
so many places you can hike and bike in the Bay Area with better views for free. I don't see the reason for charging people to use these trails. I would not recommend this area to anyone visiting since there is nothing special about it except having to potentially pay twice. once for parking and once for the trail. terrible.
Greetings, travelG74, China Camp State Park was slated for closure in 2011 due to state budget cuts. All-volunteer Friends of... 更多
