Several different trails to hike, with wildflowers galore in spring. Even orchids! Nice sweeping views of you choose those trails and wildlife if you are quiet. Benches to sit on by the lake. The trail by the lake is partially handicapped accessible, with parking.
Great to visit for longer or shorter hikes. Easy walking since it is pretty level around the lake itself but you can also extend your walk on several more challenging trails, if you wish. Nice views. Not crowded, even on weekends.
We went hiking in the Skyline Ridge area and hiked out to Horseshoe Lake. This is probably the easiest hike from where we parked our car in this area. The lake is nice and we enjoyed a picnic there. One can also just rest there like some were doing before hiking on to see more of the Skyline Ridge area.
