We hiked up from Foothill Rd which is a bit more scrambly in sections than leaving from Patricia Dr. Allow about 1.5 hours. Moderately strenuous with a great view from the top.
This was one of our favorite places to hike in California. What a nice surprise. About 3.5 hike around trip which was perfect amount for our whole family. There were benches towards the top for resting which was amazing. Great weather for August!
It may be tempting to take this hike lightly because it's near town and very popular. It is a lot of fun, but the last few hundred feet of elevation is a fairly tough climb. Yes, it's a piece of cake for the seasoned hiker. But if you're stopping in town and happen to think it looks like a fun... 更多
I went up Bishops Peak with my family (including 2 "old" teenagers) and enjoyed the hike. It took us about one hour to go up and 40 minutes to come down. We started at Patricia drive and then encountered some signs for Felschman loop. The signs for Bishops Peak only showed up a little higher up.
Average hike if you start from the neighborhood. A little tougher if you start from Foothill. Not a beginner hike if your a newbie, if you take a slow pace it will be worth the effort. I like to jog it and climb the rocks, on a nice day you see Morro and the SLO Valley.
Did this with my adult daughters recently and loved it. Awesome views of the San Luis Obispo area and peeks of the ocean. Would have been that much more beautiful if we weren't in our fourth year of drought. Pretty easy in terms of difficulty, but there are some boulders at the very top that are awkward to climb and... 更多
We started at Patricia TH and you start hiking UP right away but it's a nice path up to the stock tank and then you'll eventually veer left through a tree section before wrapping around the other side of the mountain via switchbacks to the top. The grade is very comfortable and there's great views the entire way with mixed... 更多
We did this in the afternoon and I was surprised at how much shade there was along the way. It is steep and rocky and not for novice hikers. Great views and the perfect length. Loved this hike. Parking at the top is limited and you need to park along the street and walk up to the trailhead.
We hiked this peak while staying at the neighborhood nearby; it is a beautiful walk if you take the Fehlman's loop, or a bit of a climb if you head to the top of the peak. Some poison oak along the way (avoid) and it's a great idea to bring water.
If you want to hike to the highest spot in SLO Town, then Bishop's Peak is it. Bring along a bottle of water and take your time...and do watch out for the poison oak!
