Can anyone ever tire of this place? During summer, watch for ticks as the deer are everywhere! Rattlesnakes can also be a problem. With this said, access is easy from many locations, and wildlife is abundant. Long lenses are recommended as animal life is best observed from a distance to reduce contact. Some critters do come near, be careful. Bobcats,... 更多
I love the Parkway. 15 years ago we moved within a mile of access to the parkway, and I became a regular runner on the trails. Over the years, I have seen deer, coyotes, beaver, otters, squirrels, egrets, geese, ducks, heron, snakes and assorted other animals and birds. I never tire of the gorgeous scenery, views of the river, plants... 更多
It is very beauiful through all seasons. Activities are numerous: walk, run, bike, fish on the river, swim in some little coves, reflect on the beauty of the flora, listen to the siging birds, seat and meditate on this gorgeous river path.
There is always something relaxing about a walk along a river way. They have done an excellent job creating pathways and brushes with nature as you stroll along the parkway. Whether its a relaxing walk or just finding a seat and reading, a perfect escape.
Sacramento is a city of fantastic bike trails. The best is along the American River. There are many places to connect to to the trail along the way. That means you don't have to bike from end to end. A map helps. Most of the trail goes along the river and ends at the confluence of the Sacramento River and... 更多
I enjoyed walking along the river, watching the geese, looking at the beautiful bridges . People were riding their bikes along the trail and seemed to be enjoying themselves . I felt safe although I am a woman and I was alone.
Great place for riding a bike, walking, or jogging. Gets crowded on weekends and holidays during the summer but it is pleasantly uncrowded on weekdays. Be careful hiking off the main road as mountain bikers do ride on the hiking trails even though it's not supposed to be allowed. And it can smell, uh, interesting after the salmon spawn and... 更多
We stayed downtown and our valet at the hotel told us about this as a running route. From downtown, we ran down the Capitol Mall and turned right at the foot of the Tower Bridge. Ran down a bit to the green bridge/discovery park and turned back. Really great running even though the highway is a bit loud in some... 更多
Right by nature, the trail is accessible by several parking lots if going by car. I would look up a map site and look for entrances. I entered the trail via Folsom Blvd near the Outlets and run towards Sunrise Blvd. There were many spots for a leisure walk or jog.
