This museum is a great place to really learn a lot about the upper desert and a great place to get information on day hikes and overnight hikes. There is lots of informative books that that will peak any interest from where to look for gemstones, to the different types of plants to geology books. Great place for everyone.
I've taken my children (now ages 4&5) to this museum several times over the last 4 years. They continue to expand with new fun things (art, new exhibits, etc). We love the petroglyph walk, the children's area and the wonderful gift shop.
