We strolled this beach early one morning and it was littered with tiny sand dollars - what a treat! I even saved a crab's life by getting him off his back and back on the move. Just a perfect beach!
Gentle surf because this beach is on the south side of the Point Reyes peninsula, which is sheltered from the prevailing northwest winds. Goes for miles, so great for sunbathing on a warm day, beach picnicking, garden-variety beach combing, or an easy hike. Spectacular view on a clear or partly-cloudy day from the easy summit on the way to the... 更多
The drive to the beach from the Pt. Reyes Seashore Visitor Center is an easy, pretty, 7-mile drive - with forest on both sides. The road is good - much better than the road to the Lighthouse. We saw deer and California quail along the roadside. Access to the beach is easy, and it was not crowded. Families were picnicking,... 更多
We took a day trip, originally planning on hiking to Alamere falls, however we started our day too late, so ended up hiking down to Lima tour beach and Santa Marina Beach... This is a great beach for taking a long stroll with your sweetheart... It was a wonderful quick day trip, we spent some time after exploring the town... 更多
We first discovered this beach a couple of years ago when a resident in Point Reyes Station told us about it. We've been back a couple of times since and it seems to get better every time. We were just there last week on a Friday and had the whole place nearly to ourselves. It is quite a drive to... 更多
After a short walk through protected marshland, Limantour Beach is a vast expanse of soft sand right up against Drake's Bay. On windy days, the sand can be flying and a little annoying closer to the surf, but the views are great. Less than half a mile up the road from the beach, at the Hostel, many hiking loops can... 更多
This is our go-to beach. Why? Because of huge expanse of sand in both directions and because part of this beach is dog-friendly. Also this beach is the closest beach to our home and we can get there in less than 30 minutes so we recommend this beach to all our guests. You can see for miles, good for bathing,... 更多
The hard packed sand made walking on this beach a real delight. We had been told we might find sand dollars and we did find many cute tiny ones. This is a not to miss beach experience.
We parked at the main parking lot and then walked the beach going south. On the way back we crossed back in to the other parking lot and came back on the road, allowing us a better view of the local estuary. All along the views and nature were special. To the north one could see the clifs of the... 更多
