My wife and I went there at the 10 am tour. Great tour. Moderate hike. The tour guide was well informed about the Elephant Seals habits and details. The tour lasted about 90 minutes.
We had heard that this was a great place to see Elephant seals and it did not disappoint. After a short walk we were met by one of the docents and taken to the beach area where we were able to see and hear the seals. The large males are the size of a sedan. We were able to see... 更多
One of the best day trips in the SF Bay Area. For only $7 per person (+ &10 parking per car) you tour the park and see literally 100s of these awesome critters. Well worth the drive and time. Ideally go in late December or early January to see the biggest bulls fight for their harems. But keep in mind... 更多
We were driving along Highway 1 and had stopped in Half Moon Bay. We saw postocard of seals from the park, and decided to drive there. We had no idea that the seals were only there at certain times of the year, but we got lucky and hit one of the times they were there. Got even luckier that they... 更多
9 years ago, I was going to visit this place with my dad. Unfortunately, we went at the wrong time of year (December 10th, a day when the place is closed), and I was very upset. However, I finally was able to come back to Monterey and visit the Ano Nuevo site. Both me and my dad agreed that it... 更多
This is an excellent day trip. Cost to enter is only $7, but the only problem is you have to book way in advance. These elephant seals are so huge and still so fast. We were able to see the males coming up from the sea, mom with her pup and a lot of other males of different size. We... 更多
There are only a limited number of tickets for viewing the elephant seals, and weekend tickets sell out fast. Check online in the late Fall, and book your tickets as early as you can. Also, be prepared for all kinds of weather. Bring layers. It can easily be warmer or cooler than you expect.
These seals are one of the most bizarre creatures I've ever seen in my life. As evidence, the guided tours are usually booked months in advance. But the advance planning is worth it. Lovely day on the coast with the seals learning about the lives of sea animals.
Visited on a beautiful, sunny April day. It cost $10 to park. Used the restroom facilities in the car park, then picked up a visitor permit from information centre/shop.(permits are free). Walked along the stone pathway and beach for just over a mile to reach the magnificent elephant seals. The pups were learning to swim and the adult females were... 更多
You will need to book early to get on the guided tours from December to April however there is a reason for this. Your guide will explain all about the magnificent Northern Elephant Seal on your hike to see them. Be prepared as it will take approx an hour to get to the breeding beaches. It is an easy enough... 更多
