For those of us from "out East", we never get to see the kinds of landscape that are featured in this part of California. Very stark and brown -- but very beautiful in its own way.
Great trail. nature is everywhere. You can meet mouflon. and a delightful happy ending with the cascade. Palm Springs offers so many trails to enjoy view and wildlife. Tahquitz Canyon is one of the best.
Lovely short walk up to waterfall and back. Approx 2 miles return. Go early in the morning as even the gentle climb can be exhausting in the heat.
Went for the early morning Ranger led hike. Even though it was warming up quickly, had great time and beat the mid day heat. The knowledgeable Ranger shared the secrets of the Canyon, and made the hike much more interesting. Would definitely a tell do it again
Relatively easy 2 mile round trip hike. Elevation gain is only 318ft. The falls and swimming hole is 1 mile in and is the turn around point. Wear a bathing suit under your cloths. Bring a camera. Hike is easy enough with kids 6 and up. $5 -$10 entrance fee depending on the season. Well worth the price of admission.

Now the Indians charge money to visit the Tahquitz Canyon. In the 80's it was free. It was very peaceful when we went... 更多
What an amazing Visitor Center at Taquitz Canyon. So friendly and knowledgeable, and a great way to learn about the Cahuilla Indians and their history!
