A visit to the air museum was awesome, amazing and informative because they had airplanes from WWII, Korea and the Vietnam war. It also includes a library where you can experience the simulation of flying an aircraft, publications from the 1930 to the present. They have actual newspaper clippings of the bombing of Pearl Harbor and WWII Invasion. The staff... 更多
Change of pace and they have some unique aircraft and helicopters. One interesting item was that we were able to climb into a WW2 bomber cockpit. They had planes inside and outside on display as well. Some Vietnam era choppers were there as well. They had video presentations in some of the rooms and plenty to keep you interested. The... 更多
A very good museum staffed by old veteran volunteers who really are genuinely pleased to give you details of the aircraft and recall their experiences in them
Did the Tram, did the Air Museum, the grandkids loved both the air museum though won out as far as wanting to go back for a revisit, a little walking involved, a great place to learn and in my case see the WWII aircraft of my youth, certainly well worth the time and the little effort. Great Place!
This air museum is mostly about WWII. There is a Pacific room and an European room. Lots of actual planes, displays and kiosks that have video to tell the tale of certain events. Would have loved to spend all day reading and watching everything. Very informative and educational.
I've been to quite a few, but both in variety and the detailed information available, this one ranks at the top. You also get a sense of history. The planes are accompanied by newspaper clips and models of ships that planes landed on. You really get a sense of the times with uniforms and all kinds of other side stuff... 更多
The museum is great. The docents are all veterans who are happen to share their knowledge and their experiences. We found this fascinating and will definitely return. The Air Museum is one of our "go to" spots to take visitors. I could spend hours there. The simulator on the second floor is fun! You can fly! We ate in the... 更多
WOW, what an amazing place to see aircraft up close. I've been to Air and Space in DC, Smithsonian at Dulles and other air museums around the U.S. This one is one of the best. The ancillary memorabilia, weaponry, insignias and other military issue was thoroughly documented with explanations that would interest anyone with even the slightest interest in military... 更多
We stopped here late one day when little else was open. The museum has an eclectic collection of vintage aircraft, mostly of WWII vintage. There is a lot of attention paid to historical detail and explaining what the exhibits are. Think the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum (at Dulles Airport) only much smaller. A nice way to spend a couple... 更多
