We finished our Sonoma Cheese Tour here, while many start it here. It is a lovely quick stop with a range of soft cheeses including Fromage Blanc, triple cream and a Raclette. The no nonsense tasting style makes it easy to decide what you want. Plus the self-guided cheese making overview gives you just enough to get the flavor of... 更多
I have stopped here on and off for about ten years on my way to Point Reyes. It's a great place to pick up a snack, gifts and cards. The cheeses and breads are wonderful, and the staff is always accommodating about giving you bites to taste. The shop sits next to a beautiful pond with picnic tables where you... 更多
This is an old tiny town with two attractions - a small old church and a cheese shop nearby. The shop surely is worth a visit. It's a nice small place where you can try cheeses before you buy. It's just a perfect place to stop on a road trip so don't resist - you'll like it!
Please be sure NOT to drive by this unassuming, Lafranchi family treasure! YUM YUM YUM! They did their homework and got the recipes from imported Italian cheese makers. Their dairy is the origin and the opportunity to dine in the valley makes this a double pleasure. Take your delicious fare outside and enjoy the vistas,,,then take some home for the... 更多
The smell hits you right as you enter the small sampling room. The large window lets you view the shiny equipment where the cheese is made. Samples are arranged from mildest to stinkiest and there was a surprisingly good variety. We ended up getting the mild Foggy Morning ( great on sourdough toast in the a.m) and Tomino I think,... 更多
OK, I'm a cheese fan - and the Sonoma and Marin Cheesetrail is a great tool to find cheesemakers north of San Francisco . I'm hard pressed to say if Nicasio or Mattos is my favorite - 2 very different places, both worth the visit . Nicasio has a wide selection of their interpretation of various European cheeses - not... 更多
Love this place in the next village from ours. You can watch the cheese being made. They have all kinds of fabulous cheese that are organic, and even a wonderful raw cheese that is one of my favorites. WE love to support them. They also sell local olive oils, and I think preserves and a few other things. They are... 更多
We stopped in on a weekday and could see the cheesemaking in progress while we tasted the cheeses. The foggy morning soft cheese is delicious. We also enjoyed the San Geronimo and Loma Alta. Because we were the only visitors at the time, we had the full attention of the woman in the shop who was very knowledgable. Definitely worth... 更多
You can taste at your leisure all the varieties of cheese that they make. We bought a couple of Foggy Mornings. My friend also purchased a couple of food items for gifts. No frills here, but worth the visit if you are close to Nicasio.
We tasted all the cheeses they had for tasting, about ten varieties. All were good. We ended up buying a soft cheese that was exquisite. Worth a stop!
