I saw this place on TA and thought it might be interesting. Certainly something out of the ordinary and clearly a labour of love on someone's part! It's a friendly place where we were greeted as we arrived. Certainly worth a visit! YMMV
Neither my husband nor I are into skateboarding, but this place is too good to miss when visiting Morro Bay. Jack Smith is passionate about the amazing museum he's created, and rightfully so. Extremely well laid out, informative, interesting, fun and cool. Jack knows everything there is to know about skateboarding and its history. They don't charge an admission fee,... 更多
Very nicely displayed collection of historically significant skateboards and pro skater memorabilia. Jack Smith, the curator that regularly staffs the museum and skate shop is knowledgeable and loves to talk skateboarding! He was at the famous Del Mar contest in the 1970's where the Z Boys team debuted, has skated across America three times and is a slalom guru.
I took my teenagers to visit and see all of the differant skateboards and other items shown in the Morro Bay Skateboard Museum. My sons whom also skateboard were able to read a magazine and talk with the actual person shown. This is an AMAZING shop to visit. Took me back to my childhood with all of the many differant... 更多
I skated as a 70's kid in California, I loved seeing many of my old boards. Skate boarding was just a way of life, I was never a "skate boarder" per se, but this museum brought back so many memories of our lives back then; tube socks, Vans sneakers, dolphin shorts, feathered hair... It was a good life and good... 更多
i managed to stumble across this place by accident. What a great place for skateboarding history. Well worth a visit, Tons of awesome old decks etc, bought one as well to help support the cause, make sure you do too!
even if you didn't grow up around here, Jack, the memorabilia, and all the awesome decks on the wall, will give you a hint of the great vibe and the cool folk that made and make this museum the "must see" that it is. Locals and tourists alike will be totally stoked on this place... check it out!
Let me tell you if you want to go back to your early days of skateboarding and then come back to the future and enjoy some new found treasures go to the Morro Bay Skate Museum! Great place for allllll ages to check out!
I make sure to stop in every time I visit Morro Bay. Rotating exhibits, cool merchandise, tribute walls, boards I had, boards I wish I had... and weird skate stuff I didn't know existed. Jack Smith is an OCEAN of skate-knowledge ("fountain" just doesn't cut it) and an awesome guy who continues to promote, share and participate in his passion.... 更多
My boyfriend and I discovered this museum on accident when we were walking around and ended up spending over 2 hours there. "Lords of Dogtown" is one of my favorite movies, so I was obsessed over all the history the museum had. My boyfriend has no interest in skateboards or surfing, and still LOVED being there... We both bought Tshirts... 更多
Being a skate product of the 70's growing up in orange county I was one of the first to skate the fruitbowl in garden grove where I lived. Seeing this awsome display of skate history took me back to a time when life, skating, surfing, was a time that defined my history and I am so fortunate to have been able... 更多
We visited the Morro Bay Skateboard Museum last Summer on our trip back to the area. This place is just AWESOME! It brought back so many childhood memories. Jack is very knowledgeable about everything skateboard. He even knew some of the people I skated with and spots we skated as kids. We will definitely be back this Summer too.
