We have completed this hike a couple of times now and it never ceases to impress. The trail begins of the Upper Kananaskis Lakes parking lot behind the outhouse building. Follow the trail around and over the newly completed bridge over Sarrail Falls until you come to the fork. Take the left hand fork for the trail to Rawson Lake.... 更多
The hike started off easy from the upper kananaskis parking lot, when the trail forks go left and start making your way up the trail. Steady incline through the trees and eventually you make your way to the lake. From there you can walk around the lake and make your way up the steep incline to sarrail ridge. Well worth... 更多
Rawson Lake is truly beautiful and worth seeing but there is a steep climb to get there. The lake is reached by hiking up a trail with 1000 feet of vertical climb from the trailhead on Upper Kananaskis Lake. As with most hikes in Alberta you are advised to be in good shape, keep an eye on the weather, have... 更多
Enjoyable hike along Upper Kananaskis Lake, past Sarrail Creek Falls & then up the trail to Rawson Lake. The trail was really muddy in some sections when we went. We left early in the morning & there was already lots of people on the trail. When we reached the lake we sat & enjoyed spotting the pikas & squirrels in... 更多
We had a bit of trouble finding the trail and ended up at upper Kananaskis lake instead so had a bonus 2 km flat walk... So we considered skipping this. I'm so glad we ended up doing it! The incline portion of the trail is challenging, or was for me, but the good kind of challenging. Gave me a decent... 更多
This was a good hike with fantastic views of both Upper Kananaskis and Rawson lakes and the surroundings of the trail itself is quite pretty. Be prepared as the bridge at the waterfall is gone due to flood damage. There is a sign as you start the trail to use at your own risk. Don't let that deter you -... 更多
This is a great hike...definitely beautiful at the lake but very muddy. You need study footwear that you don't mind getting dirty...and pants.
If you are going to Kananaskis Country you want to go to Upper Kananaskis Lake and take the trail to Rawson's Lake in Peter Laugheed Provincial Park. Some steep inclines but the trail is in good shape and easily navigated apart from the incline. Worth the trek to Rawson's Lake for a gorgeous view.
Quick facts: 3.9 km one way from Upper Lake parking, 320m elevation gain, around 90 minutes moderate hike to reach Rawson Lake from the parking place. I have enjoyed this trail many times and I recommended to everyone. The trail starts following the Upper Lake rim for about 1.2km until the trail reach a "Y" bifurcation. From there take the... 更多
