This museum is terrific. Not to be missed. And free! The museum takes us not just through the history of maps, but it also takes us through the history of (mostly European/Western) human thought - how we envisioned the world and our place in it. The placard notes were exceedingly well written. Calm, peaceful atmosphere. Travel hint: be prepared for... 更多
A map lover's paradise! Many old and rare maps from a private collection. I could spend all day here. Friendly host and nice music in the background
The Map and Atlas Museum is a small but true gem and well worth visiting if you have an hour (or two) to spare. It is free of charge, and good for adults and kids over the age of 10. Located in the non-descript Merrill Lynch building that houses a gym, Lean and Green Cafe, a travel agency and other... 更多

Very interesting to see not old but ancient maps show what people/map makers thought about how the earth looked like. In same cases... 更多
If you love maps, you'll probably spend at least a couple hours here. There are many very rare maps to view in a well displayed, well lighted area. The staff is very friendly and helpful too. Excellent museum!
Take the elevator down to the courtyard level and it drops you off right in front of one of the most interesting personal collections that I have had the pleasure to see. Upon entering I was greeted quite kindly with a hello and a quick description of what the museum is and explanation of the layout. There are some truly... 更多
I've been wanting to visit this museum for a few years and finally just got in the car and drove over to the village. I love this place. I learned so much about California that I didn't learn in school. (You'll have to go to understand) I appreciated the magnifying glass they gave me to use to see the details... 更多
Small but beautiful place. Very interesting to explore previous generations' views of the world around them, and their attempts to,set that down on paper. Their open hours are limited, so best to check online first. Open Wednesday's, Thursday's and the first & third Saturday's from 11-4. Enjoy!
I went to the Map and Atlas Museum of La Jolla as I happened to be in the area and thought that I would pop in to check it out. I am so glad that I didn't make a special trip to La Jolla just to see this museum as it was super tiny. I'm not sure what I was... 更多
