My family walked along Prospect Street after viewing the La Jolla Cove area. There are lots of small shops, various eateries and ice cream shops. For a small town, there are so many dining and shopping opportunities. Spend the day. Several art galleries to visit too. I have cocktails at sunset in one of the amazing bars
I loved that the shops were walking distance from my hotel (La Valencia). The sidewalks are clean and no busy. During the evening, the sidewalks are empty and you can easily take a stroll without dodging people. I loved the diversity of shops. I found summer clothes including a cute bathing suit! This is a nice area to walk around and visit the different shops in the area. There is just about anything around here and is not limited to only this area, the surrounding blocks have lots of small shops, museums, libraries and art studios as well. There are several restaurant too.
Kate Spade, White House Black Market, Chico's, Talbots, Benefit Total and especially Ark Antiques! ARK ANTIQUES, has beautiful furniture, jewerly, artifacts, crystal, silver, art works BECAUSE As wealthy seniors sell their homes, and downsize it all goes for sale at this fantastic , one of a kind, store on Girard Ave. in La Jolla., it is worth a visit!
This place has been there for years, but never fails to be good! Make sure you do not mind a line, be patient. The wait is worth it! Great store selection. Something for everyone. A LOT of great restaurants and bars. Some great art galleries. Fun to walk around and people watch also.
