If you are in the area, I would recommend stopping here. There are different ways to access the bridge. You can park up the street (It is free and there is a porta potty if needed) and walk down the street and the bridge is to your left. I parked in the lot and walked the trail, which eventually, looped... 更多
The morning we left Escondido we wanted a quick experience so we walked over the suspension bridge. It was interesting because looking in one direction you saw really desolate terrain with a few houses overlooking the canyon, and in the other direction you could see the freeway. We could see mountain bikers in the distance, just little dots. we parked... 更多
Whether you are on foot or riding bikes this is a taste of the California of old. Artists paint this. Runners run here. Native Americans camped here many moons ago. The central part of the San Dieguito River Park that runs 55 miles from coast to crest.. this is a nice find for anyone looking for some time away from... 更多

This is a lot more fun when not in a drought, but it is fun and a cool bridge to take across Lake Hodges. Pretty cool bridge architecture as well.
Good hike, nice views a bit noisy until you get away from the 15, go west and the trail will take you all the way tot he main lake launch/picnic area, lots of wildlife, easy hike..
Park your car at the storage units and walk along the Interstate 15, under the freeway and head towards the walking bridge. You will see any number of birds, bird nests under the overpass, and depending on the season, ducks. In the warm months you may see a snake trail crossing the path to the bridge, but I have walked... 更多
I went up the trail before the bridge on dirt path and it was gorgeous....great for a run. There were solo and couples biking, walking with dogs, and running. I was solo and felt safe. I didn't want to turn around to go back... my friend does the 22 mile loop around the lake. One of my photos has the... 更多
