This is a lovely location with abundant parking, restuarants and shops. Able to wander and admire an enormous number of boats. There are sometimes other activities such as art shows etc. Also the nearby downtown area has been undergoing improvements which makes it more attractive for a wander. With several nearby trails if you want more strenuous walking
Greys, humpbacks and blues - all found in these waters off Dana Point. We hopped aboard with about two dozen others for a 90-minute cruise w Capt. Dave. After 40 minutes we started following a big blue whale. It never showed more than his small dorsal fin as it surfaced for air what seemed about every 5 to 10 minutes.... 更多
We went on a whale watching adventure and we got see Gray Whales and a Fin Whale. Our captain was intent on making sure we got to the best places to see the whales and get us as close as we safely could to the whales. It was a beautiful sight. The other boats all communicate with each other to... 更多
A lovely place to take your time and enjoy all the beautiful scenery, boardwalks and restaurants. One of our favorite places on the Pacific Coast Highway.
Dana Point Harbor is a great place for an after dinner stroll. Tonight we just walked around the Southeast corner near all the restaurants. This was a first, but we actually saw a big elephant seal swimming around the day-trip fishing boat docks looking for leftovers. My daughter also spotted a small stingray swimming right along the edge of the... 更多
lWe took out a arge boat for whale watching trip, while we didn't see any whales, there were hundreds of Dolphins swimmimg along side the boat. Lots of good restaurants, fun bars in the area with fresh fish, cool drinks, and great atmosphere.
Dana Point Harbor is a great place to go for SO many things! I walk there almost every day. There is the Marine Institute, restaurants and lots of quaint shops. You can go to Catalina Island from the harbor or go out fishing or even whale watching. There ships there you can charter for private parties as well!
You can walk around and look into the various shops, stop in one of the local restaurants, or be adventurous. At the very end of Dana Point is a set of stairs that led down to a quiet beach area. But watch the tides, even at low tide there are places you can get wet. If you follow the beach... 更多
Nice area, lot's of great restaurants. Some nice areas to walk, including the beach and the wharf. We saw seals in the harbor, people wave boarding..
The fact it was a lovely day did not hurt. This is a very pretty place for a nice, leisurely walk, with lots of picnic tables and barbecues. A small selection of pretty shops and restaurants, a great museum, especially for the kids. A couple of large tall ships are permanently moored here. A great day out
Play on the beach, walk the shops, walk out behind the Ocean Institute (our favorite) to get the "real" ocean, waves and all--it's awesome. We saw a whale from the point!
Just a beautiful harbor to walk around and look at everything. We were here to catch the ferry out to Catalina Island, but I can't wait to come back and spend more time here looking at everything. Just beautiful!
