It is a small museum but an very good one for General Patton. The movie that is shown is a very good introduction to who he was. I especially liked the one quote that "when the enemy KNOWS YOU INTEND TO WIN it makes a difference." Too bad America seems to have forgotten that. There does not seem to be... 更多
We were thrilled that we had taken the time to stop and go through this great place. It looks pretty rustic from the outside and is not fancy in the inside. But!! What you find inside is a treasure trove of history. It's operated by volunteers. The display cabinets are definitely handmedowns but all the contents tell the stories. We... 更多
While the movies shown and most of the displays are about General George Patton's World War 2 military career, there are also many collections from other wars/conflicts. Outdoors is a large group of tanks representing various conflicts. There are books available for purchase that focus on General Patton and the Desert Training Center which encompassed 18,000 square miles of desert... 更多
For a relatively small space, they cram in an awful lot of history. Not sure why there is a topographical model of the surrounding area in the lobby. The newsreel video was quite enlightening. I enjoyed the first person accounts. Flipping through the books containing the typewritten orders shows how genuine these artifacts are. I was moved by the momentous... 更多
For a man of his stature this was an insult to this great General. It was mostly a military museum with just a small amount of information devoted to Patton. There were several rusted out tanks outside of the building that were just an eyesore and nothing else. The admission fee was not expensive but it was mainly a waste... 更多
This has the appearance of a private museum built by someone who loved the subject. The displays have a wide variety of depth of coverage, from immense detail on some subjects to a wide overview on others. The armor outside is mostly post WWII vintage, but there are a few key pieces (e.g. Sherman) pre-1945.
We've driven by here countless times, but never had the time to stop, as we wanted to be in LA before dark. This time, we were staying in Palm Desert for one night, and had a chance to visit. Our local PBS TV Channel shows movies (they call it "Hollywood at Home") every Saturday night, and right before our trip,... 更多
Not on the beaten path but very informative with facts and accurate displays. All parents with teen agers and younger would do well to stop and educate a population that have no clue what our seniors did to preserve our freedom 75 years ago. Displays are indoor and WWII vehicles are outside. I'm a war baby who's dad served with... 更多
