The house is cleaner than in the movie but looks the same.
The trippy part? The curtains have birds on them! Nice to see that the new owners have a sense of humor.
This was a quick stop on our drive from St. Helena to Bodega Bay. I was expecting "more". Maybe a well manicured lawn or more posters displaying the historical significance but there was only one sign and unfortunately the property was not well managed .
A little off the beaten path than the movie "The Birds" would suggest. Looks for signs for Bodega Bay "proper". But nice to see if you are a fan of the movie. It wasn't open - can't say we made a note of times.
The schoolhouse was very pretty, but what we really enjoyed was St. Theresa of Avila church. Open to the public and beautiful inside and out, with a very cool history. It was like being transported back in time!
I thought it was GREAT!!! Gave me "goosebumps." But my sister's spirit now lives on there as she was a big Alfred Hitchcock fan like me. I didn't need to go INSIDE the house to experience anything. If you have it in your heart, it doesn't matter WHERE you go....Happy Trails!
You just drive up to it and look at it. The fact that people in it made me feel weird and awkward to park in front of it and take pictures. I was so uncomfortable with it that I ended up not taking pictures. Would have been way better if you could interact with the house and if there were...
