At the Eastern edge of Baker, CA off I-15 you will find the world's tallest thermometer known as the Bunboy Motel thermometer. Originally this was a roadside attraction that sat in front of a small diner located next to the Bunboy Motel in Baker. The motel was a way-stop for weary travelers on their way to or from Los Angeles... 更多
Well tick this one off the bucket list. Thing was until we arrived in Baker we never knew it existed. Now, well we've been there and done that. Kind a fun to say you've seen but don't set aside more than 55 seconds to take it all in.
This is your first stop major stop traveling from Las Vegas to California. This is small town that has a couple of attractions. This is located in Baker, California. There are a couple of other attractions in this stop. It is a good stop to stretch your legs and refuel but I would not recommend this as a destination stop.
I would not have wanted to make a trip just to see this but it was accurate; 95 degrees! It's just a digital reading; it would have been cooler if it had been shaped and decorated in the shape of a thermometer, but it's something to draw your attention while you stop in Baker for gas or snacks.
When my husband and I were first dating, we had to do the obligatory stop in Baker to take pictures with the thermometer. On this last trip, we introduced our children to it. Now, every time they go to Vegas, they will always remember the first time they saw this with Mom and Dad.
This attraction can be seen from I-15 heading either north or south. It is situated in the town of Baker. Baker is a wayside on the way to or from Vegas. There are a number of fast food restaurants/gas stations. The thermometer is just a curious oddity that has no attraction appeal, not enough to get you to stop.
Stop by to not only get a close up of the world's largest thermometer, but meet the people who began it all. The gift shop carries not only thermometer souvenirs, but also glimpses into the history and culture and adventures to be found in the surrounding areas or for the rest of your road trip. Our favorite was meeting Loray... 更多
Its always good to stop at a world record monument. It's a great place to have one given the extreme heat that you get in Baker. I wouldn't travel just to see this but its a good place to stop on your way to Vegas.
