We took a day trip via boat and while it's not a bad beach, it's dirty sand and pebbles closer to the water. The sea is beautiful and I still enjoyed the day but it wasn't as good as the photos made out. It is also impossible to get to the waterfall which is advertised as the path disappears 10mins... 更多
Overall we had a great day out here. This was due to the fresh water pools you can swim in after walking away from the beach through the palm trees. The kids and I played and swam about for ages looking at the fish in the river. The views on the walk to get to pools were lovely too. Palm... 更多
If you go by car/bike you get great views while reaching it and while climbing down - but then you have to climb back up ;) It's surely worth to see it once but it's not every day beach because of the crowds.
We drove here on our tour round Crete.OK the beach was nice and the palm trees lovely but we have seen nicer beaches and it was very over crowded.
We went by boat and had a nice day out, the setting is lovely and the beach is good, the forest interesting however just far too many people for us. The geese are amusing but the people aren't !
Boat trip from Plakias us the best part. Not a sandy beach but lovely Palm Walk. One taverna - not great selection of food. No sun beds. Must shelter under olive trees to get some shade.
Strange place indeed. If you want to go there, youwon't find the nicest beach in the island, the water isn't clear and you'll find rocks in the sea. Of course the river coming from the mountain through the Palm Tree Forest is a curiosity. After parking your car (2€/car), you will have to deserve it, since you have to walk... 更多
Sometimes you have to do a bit of work to find that perfect spot. Here you have to walk down 490 uneven steps, having parked in the car park above ( costs €2). Beach is fine pebbles with clear seas. The gorge behind is full of palm trees , you can walk along the river. There is a small taverna... 更多
Locals told us about this beach and we had high expectations but not worth it. Not easy way to go there and you need good shoes to pass through the rocks. After that is not easy to find shade.
Visited Plam Beach whilst driving through. Is around a 30 minute drive from Rethymnon and once there you pay €2 for parking. After that, you have about a 10-15 minute down rocky stairs, probably not ideal if with young kids. Once at the beach, it is picturesque but not stunning. It's not sand but little pebbles/shingles. Only saw 1 place... 更多
